Lascaux Textile Medium is a water-based acrylic additive designed to convert Lascaux colours into professional textile screen printing ink.

Mixed 1:1 with Lascaux Studio, Bronze or Neon acrylics, it provides flexibility, adhesion and wash resistance on cotton and natural fibres.

Part of the Lascaux modular water-based screen printing system. Available in 500 ml and 1 litre.

What Is Lascaux Textile Medium

Lascaux Textile Medium is a transparent water-based acrylic medium formulated to transform Lascaux acrylic paints into textile printing ink.

Its main function is to modify the acrylic film so that it becomes:

  • Flexible

  • Wash resistant

  • Properly bonded to fibres

  • Less brittle than pure acrylic

It is not a simple diluent, but a structural modifier of the acrylic polymer.

How It Works in Textile Screen Printing

When mixed 1:1 with Lascaux acrylic paint:

  • Adjusts viscosity for correct mesh passage

  • Adds flexibility to the dried ink film

  • Improves adhesion to cotton and natural fibres

  • Maintains colour intensity

  • Reduces cracking and stiffness

Example:

500 ml paint + 500 ml medium = 1 kg ready-to-print textile ink.

Difference from Using Acrylic Alone

Pure acrylic may:

  • Feel rigid on fabric

  • Crack after repeated use

  • Lose adhesion after washing

Lascaux Textile Medium modifies the paint structure to improve durability and flexibility.

Does It Require Heat Setting?

According to the manufacturer, when mixed correctly, additional heat fixation is not strictly required.

However, in professional practice, light heat setting may improve wash resistance in demanding fabrics or intensive washing conditions.

Always perform tests before production.

Compatible Fabrics

Best suited for:

  • Cotton

  • Linen

  • Natural fibre blends

Testing is recommended on synthetic fabrics.

Advantages Over Other Textile Inks
