The Screen Block System3 by Daler Rowney is a screen printing blocker applied to the screen to cover non-drawn areas, sealing them in the Direct Drawing technique. Apply with a scoop coater or squeegee. Removes easily with Sosil.
Compatible with Drawing Fluid System3 and similar products such as Speedball Drawing Fluid.
The Screen Block System3 from Daler Rowney is a removable blocking medium for screen printing, specially formulated for the Direct Drawing technique — an artistic and versatile way to create screens without photographic processes.
Its main function is to cover all non-drawn areas of the mesh, sealing them so that ink will not pass through during printing. Once dry, the block protects these areas and can be easily removed with hot water and a suitable cleaner such as Sosil.
Once your design has been applied with Drawing Fluid System3 and is completely dry, the Screen Block is spread over the entire screen using a scoop coater, spatula, or squeegee. After drying, the design is revealed by washing with cold water, leaving only the drawn areas open for printing.
The Screen Block System3 is fully compatible with Speedball Drawing Fluid, and the Speedball Screen Fillercan be used over the Daler Rowney Drawing Fluid. The key is to always combine a drawing fluid and a blocker for the process to work correctly.
